Description: Play a sales leadership role in a rapidly growing, profitable Internet company. Our Client is a leading niche media firm with a portfolio of trustworthy websites and events within specific vertical markets. Rapid and successful growth has generated the need for a new position - Director of Advertising Sales. The experienced individual hired will have primary responsibility for achieving the team’s budgeted sales goals by motivating, coaching and mentoring a team of sales professionals. In addition, the Director will be responsible for setting and implementing the policies and procedures relative to the sales process. A passion for motivating, coaching, and mentoring a sales team is an absolute must.

Consistent with the company’s culture, the position does provide some flexibility with schedule and the ability to perform some work remote.
Salary for this role will be a combination of base compensation and bonus tied to team sales, and commensurate with experience.
Direct, Motivate, Coach and Manage the Advertising Sales Team:
Recruit, hire, motivate, coach, train and develop a team of world-class account executives.
Assign and manage territories and account responsibilities.
Set and monitor sales activity standards.
Develop and implement compensation plans.
Provide ongoing coaching. Administer disciplinary action as necessary.
Strategize and Plan Sales Activities:
Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Oversee Sales Policies, Processes, and Systems:
Set and implement pricing policies so that inventory value is maximized.
Implement and manage sales process.
Provide input and direction for the systems used by the sales team, including the ad server, billing system, and CRM system.
Provide Input on Collateral Materials Needs:
Communicate needs as it relates to marketing materials to support the sales effort to include demographic studies, media kit updates, and case studies.
Minimum of a Bachelor Degree
Prior experience in online media sales
High energy and interest in working with others and mentoring a sales team
Strong communication skills and the ability to coach others in this area
The company strongly prefers the individual hired to reside in Cincinnati, Ohio
