WFAA-TV, the Dallas, Texas ABC Affiliate, and a TEGNA Media Inc. station is looking for the individual that will be responsible for all sales related revenue streams including spot television, digital, mobile, event marketing and to create other non-traditional streams from which to grow revenue. Primary responsibilities include leading a team of over 40 in achievement of revenue goals; effective yield management; accurate forecasting; departmental budget creation and management of it; goal setting for the department and various revenue streams; setting strategic direction with a clear execution plan. The right individual for this position must possess strong leadership and communication skills, have shown creativity in revenue generation along with excellent execution skills, developed strong processes and SOP for sales departments, able to establish a clear vision and path for the sales force of tomorrow.
Willingness to utilize WFAA consultants and training protocols.
Five or more years minimum of television sales management as Director of Sales or GSM.
The ideal candidate should preferably have experience in a top 20 market with extensive experience in digital media.
Individual should be proficient in strategic and tactical thinking, strong analytical skills, leadership, budgeting skills, planning and possess the creative abilities to generate revenue outside of traditional sources.
Must be able to work under pressure and prioritize goals for the department and the station.
Must be able to manage a large staff with various skill sets with the additional ability to work with other TEGNA entities and build consensus.
Proficient in working with all Microsoft Products, Excel, Word, proficient with NSI, Wide Orbit, and ComScore (formerly Rentrak).
