Position:  Digital Sales Manager

Description:   WTXL ABC 27 HD is looking for a Digital Sales Manager ot lead our digitial busness development efforts within the Tallahassee-Thomasville market.

The sucsessful candidate will identify customer opportunities, create smart digital campaign solutions and build strategies to ensure a positive return on our clients’ investments.

You wil work in the field with our sales team to build our digital footprint and direct new business efforts. Armed with digital solutions and the ability to “speak” digital marketing, you will help shape our business and the businesses of our clients.

The DSM will offer high-end digital solutions including social media marketing, online promotions, mobile and desktop website solutions, SEO, SEM, online reputation and visibility management, online targeted display and video advertising.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guide our Media Sales Team on digital advertising sales calls.
  • Perform customer needs analysis in the field to uncover clients’ goals and strategic objectives.
  • From the needs analysis, create custom strategies and tactics to achieve clients’ goals and format into custom client facing proposals.
  • Products include but not limited to Display, Reach Extension, Video, SEM/SEO, Native Advertising and Social Media
  • Targeting/Retargeting: Create proposals for display and pre-roll.
  • Present proposals to clients.
  • Assist sales department with digital RFPs.
  • Serve as project manager between sales, ad trafficking, ad creation and the company’s Digital Development Team.
  • At the end of each campaign, create custom performance reports that effectively analyze how the customer goals were met or exceeded with the goal of increasing retention and upsell.
  • Point person for AEs, sales managers, clients, and various station departments including Research, News, Sales, and Promotions to provide a full suite of sales materials.


  • Advanced digital industry knowledge about digital products including display advertising, streaming, native advertising, social media, SEM/SEO and reach extension products.
  • Advanced digital industry knowledge about Website analytics including compiling usage reports and interpreting results.

  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills including identifying campaign pitfalls and providing custom solutions.
  • Analytical in nature with a firm grasp of numbers and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Can easily identify priority items and complete in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
  • Must possess positive customer service attitude with both internal and external contacts; flexible, patient, courteous, professional and a problem solver.
  • Must have a visceral distaste for office politics and gossip.
